Feedback from Firefighters around the world...
from Franfurt, Germany ...the song (fireman´s prayer), is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard about the firefighters. The song is a tribute to firemen all over the world.

St Helen's, Oregon
I heard your song for the first time during a tribute to our fallen brothers in New York. I was so moved I had to find it and hear it again. As a firefighter, the words ring so true to me.

Nova Scotia, Canada
I have never seen a tribute to the fraternity that is more moving.  Plainfolk is to be congratulated on a job well done.

Struthers, Ohio
I heard the song on my local radio station for the first time. It was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

Effingham, IL
I just heard the song Fireman's Prayer for the first time and it is the most inspirational song I have ever heard..

Northern, VA
The Fireman's Prayer song is I think the most beautiful song I've ever heard...

Detroit, MI
I have only been a firefighter for a few years but nothing captures the feeling of the firehouse as this song does.

NYC, NY
I lost my nephew on 9/11/01 - he was in a stairwell of the WTC.  I was in tears when I heard  the song "Fireman's Prayer".
God bless all of you for your beautiful song.  I'm sending to friends who have also lost friends and family in the Twin Towers...

Queensland, Australia
I would like to thank you for the tribute to the 6 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice...

Sterling Heights, MI
I serve as the chaplain to the Sterling Heights Fire Department and was quite moved when I came across a clip of the song Fireman's Prayer. I know that the words of the song offer the blessing of comfort to those on the frontline of fire safety. Thank you for writing such a song and putting it out for people to hear. God bless and keep you!

Midway, AR
Great job on the song. You guys hit the nail on the head. As a firefighter for years the song really hit home. Keep up the good work.

Orlando, FL
The words to the fireman's prayer are truly a sincere tribute to the people who have given their lives so that others may live. A "tip of the hat" to your group for such a wonderful tribute to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice !

Charleston, SC
I was looking for the Firefighter's Prayer online for a speech I have to give and came across your Firefighter's Prayer song. I've just listened to it twice and I've cried from being moved so deeply.

Snow Hill, NC
I have recently listened and read your Fireman's Prayer and I must say it was wonderful. I am a career firefighter and a fire chief as well. This poem is very heartfelt and I have shared it with my fireman family. Great job.

Franklin, OH
Stopped here to hear " FIREMANS PRAYER" - What a moving song, it captures the spirit of the fire service and the brotherhood within. GREAT JOB!.

FIREMAN'S PRAYER

© 1996 by Charlie Ball    performed by Plainfolk

Chorus: Lay me down beside cool water
And lay to rest my body sore
Send the word out to my brothers
The fire is down, let it burn no more

1) Let me be ready Lord when the call comes in
When the sirens wail and the engines strain
When the smoke is thick and the air is thin
When innocent lives, in the balance hang

2) I've trained hard Lord and I've learned well
That I'm just one part of a human chain
Though it's been forged in the fires of hell
Still I've known fear oh Lord, and I've prayed for rain

3) If my brother goes down Lord, let me be near
Won't you let me have what the flames demand
Won't you give him voice, O Lord, and let me hear
And give me the reach Lord, for his outstretched hand

4) Let me be ready Lord if it comes my turn
Won't you let me be strong, let me not complain
Won't you let me go in and with a child return
Take me young oh Lord, but not in vain

Chorus

Tragedy strikes when and where its least expected. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the Firefighters involved in this tragic incident in our hometown  of  Worcester, MA.  May they find comfort in the arms of the family of firefighters from around the world.
